The 2001 handcrafted Merlot Reserve expresses the paramount quality that our wine fans have come to expect from our Fox Creek Vineyards. Picked at the peak of ripeness in early October 2001, it was slowly fermented, gingerly pressed off its skins, and transferred by "old world techniques" to French oak barrels where it quietly matured for over 18 months. The result is a classic Merlot with hints of buttery, berry aromas and flavors, a mouth feel of soft tannins and medium body. Bottled at a pH of 3.69 coupled with a modest alcohol of 15.8%.
